As every year, Saint G\u00e9raud Aurillac lived to the rhythm of the Language Week<\/strong>, organized from March 23 to 27, 2026. A highlight where words become a true field for exploration, creation, and reflection.<\/p>\n

For this 11th edition, the theme \u00abWords to understand the world\u00bb<\/strong> invited students to question the richness, limitations, and power of languages.<\/p>\n

Throughout the week, numerous artistic and cultural initiatives allowed students to explore linguistic diversity through various projects.<\/p>\n

A week of creative and interdisciplinary projects<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t
\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t

Throughout the week, pupils and students explored modern languages through various projects, combining linguistic reflection, artistic expression, and cultural openness. Between work on the untranslatable words in English<\/strong>, creation of\u2019acrostics<\/strong> or else\u00a0Spanish music<\/strong>, each could experiment with different ways of bringing languages to life.<\/p>\n

The students of CAP<\/strong> contributed to this week by completing Multilingual badges and magnets<\/strong>, associating words, emotions, and personal identity.<\/p>\n

The 10th grade general track students<\/strong>, we crossed paths with languages and cultures by illustrating notions related to Pre-Columbian civilizations<\/strong>. In English, they chose a quote from a famous personality<\/strong> on the importance of languages, before explaining their meaning and their choice when speaking.<\/p>\n

On the vocational track, CVPM Pro Seconds<\/strong> have worked around the lexicon of Spanish gastronomy<\/strong>, illustrating words, while the CVPM terminals<\/strong> have carried out Creative videos<\/strong> to stage idiomatic expressions<\/strong> related to animals. A job in\u00a0sciences on pictograms<\/strong>, to understand how symbols convey a universal message they were also proposed.<\/p>\n

The students of STD2A<\/strong> distinguished themselves with productions combining language and visual creation: the Juniors designed a video clip<\/strong> around the song by Iaku in Spanish, while the Seniors imagined acrostics in English<\/strong>, combining meaning and aesthetics.<\/p>\n

Finally, the students of DN MADE<\/strong> in turn, explored the links between language and design through a typography workshop<\/strong> and the creation of a Memory game<\/strong> around idiomatic expressions. As an option in Spanish, they enriched this dynamic with graphic and animated projects<\/strong>, in the form of posters and animations.<\/p>\n

This diversity of projects illustrates a vibrant and concrete approach to languages, where writing, creating, manipulating, and playing become as many ways to learn and express oneself.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Give everyone a voice<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

One Participatory wall<\/strong> was installed at the heart of the high school with a simple question: \u00abAnd you, what language shapes you?.\u00a0<\/em>Everyone at the institution was able to write a word that was important to them, in the language of their choice, explain it, or even illustrate it. A space for free expression, revealing linguistic and cultural diversity of the institution<\/strong>ment.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t

Beyond the classrooms, the entire institution mobilized. The cafeteria also joined in by offering Themed menus<\/strong>, allowing students to travel differently: towards North Africa<\/strong>, the\u2019Germany<\/strong> and other horizons, through flavors. A concrete and accessible way to remember that languages are also cultures, traditions, and ways of life.<\/p>\n

This Language Week 2026<\/strong> once again confirms the importance of these highlights in the students' journey. Beyond learning, it promotes:<\/p>

  • cultural openness<\/li>
  • creativity<\/li>
  • the reflection on the meaning of words<\/li>
  • and the link between disciplines<\/li><\/ul>

    As many essential skills to understand today's world... and tomorrow's. This Living Languages Week 2026<\/strong> was an opportunity for the students to to express oneself, create, and engage through languages,<\/strong> thus strengthening their openness to the world and their intercultural sensitivity.
