The\u00a0Student Prize<\/strong>\u00a0is attributed to\u00a0Ang\u00e8le Magre<\/strong><\/em>. A second-year student in DN MADE Textile (formerly BTS Textile Design) at Lyc\u00e9e St G\u00e9raud in Aurillac, Ang\u00e8le chose an airy and unreal pattern, where 3 dragonflies fly amidst snowflakes.<\/p>

Ang\u00e8le Magre is a student in\u00a0Textile design<\/strong><\/a>. After a first participation in the 2019 edition of\u00a0Textile Addict Contest<\/em><\/strong><\/a>, she tried the experiment again, and she did well... This year, she hit the mark with\u00a0Its \u201cAir Magic\u201d motif\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0light and refined. The Jury of the Textile Addict Competition did not hesitate long before awarding him the\u00a03<\/strong>e<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0Textile Addict Competition Prize 2020 (Student Prize)<\/strong>. We took the opportunity to ask her to tell us about herself, her relationship with creation, and of course, her vision of the textile universe!<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

From upholstery tapestry to textile design... Yes to the Applied Arts!<\/h2>

After obtaining a literary baccalaureate, Ang\u00e8le Magre chose to pursue manual and creative professions. She opted for upholstery and earned a professional baccalaureate, an experience that solidified her passion for patterns. Nevertheless, the \u201cdesign\u201d aspect of the training inspired her the most, leading her to enroll\u00a0MANAA<\/strong><\/a>. This year of exploring all the possibilities of applied arts has been a revelation: excited by the diversity of media, techniques, and subjects, she continues by specializing in\u00a0Textile design<\/strong>. She is currently in\u00a02<\/strong>e<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0DNMADE Year - Textile Specialization (formerly BTS Textile Design)<\/strong>.<\/p>

Never short of ideas, Ang\u00e8le aims to have a rich, fulfilling life full of encounters.<\/strong>\u2026 which we wholeheartedly wish for her! For now, she\u2019s fully immersed in her studies, but her future plans will very likely blend textile design, the development of creative workshops, travel, and perhaps even collaboration with a magazine\u2026 A nice program in prospect!\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Think outside the box<\/h2>

Don't hesitate to think outside the box, to have your own perspectives... For Ang\u00e8le Magre, \u201cThinking differently is a strength, so you might as well leverage it!<\/em>\u201c\u00a0This hypersensitive person with a boundless imagination likes to think outside the box and prove that difference is a source of richness.<\/strong><\/p>

Far from wanting to lock herself into a specific style, Ang\u00e8le prefers to focus on\u2019engagement<\/strong>\u00a0of his work and on his\u00a0creative bias<\/strong>. She evokes her \u201cchameleon<\/em>\u201cthis ability to adapt to all subjects, all situations, by infusing certain components of one's personality into one's work...<\/p>

When it comes to colors, Ang\u00e8le admits to having a particular affinity for\u00a0turquoise green<\/strong>, a \u201cshade\u201cWho is talking to him<\/em>\u201dby evoking nature and serenity, but she likes to draw from all\u00a0color ranges<\/strong><\/a>, without distinction. Behind each color, there is a symbolic and historical component that she likes to use in her creations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Fascinating patterns with captivating colors<\/h2>

It is through clothing and wallpaper that Ang\u00e8le discovers an early passion for colors and patterns.<\/strong>\u00a0Years later, her vocational baccalaureate allowed her to train in upholstery fabric, and it reinforced her choice to pursue a career related to pattern creation. She enjoys approaching it through different types of materials and mediums: the\u00a0weaving<\/strong><\/a>, the\u00a0knit<\/strong><\/a>, the\u00a0hand-drawn or digital<\/strong><\/a>... Comfortable in this \u201cinfinite creative universe,\u201d Ang\u00e8le loves above all to mix, study, and explore patterns from around the world and their history. This passion is also expressed in her wardrobe, filled with \u201cpatterns of all kinds and all colors!\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Everything that inspires him<\/h2>

For Ang\u00e8le, having\u2019imagination<\/strong>\u00a0is an undeniable asset, but you need to know how to nurture your creativity to allow it to express itself.\u00a0Animals, nature, and esotericism are her passions.<\/strong>\u00a0Books, films, series, walks, trips, exhibitions, music, food... her list of inspirations is endless! An epicurean and curious soul, Ang\u00e8le Magre seizes every opportunity to stimulate her creative spirit. She loves discovering new landscapes, getting to know other people, exploring, experimenting, but also\u00a0draw inspiration from diversity<\/strong>, in every small detail all around her. Ang\u00e8le is convinced of the enrichment that exchanges with others can bring: for her, meeting very different people is particularly inspiring.<\/p>

His ideal work environment<\/h2>

Even though being around people doesn't bother her when creating, Ang\u00e8le Magre prefers to work alone, in the countryside, and in a studious atmosphere. This doesn't stop her from watching a video or listening to music while creating.\u00a0Mood board<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0or a weaving... On the other hand, when she undertakes writing a text, for example, calm and concentration are essential in her eyes.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Its creation process<\/h2>

Ang\u00e8le always starts with a\u00a0research phase<\/strong>\u00a0on the theme or topic it has to address. This preparatory phase includes the realization of\u00a0sketch<\/strong>, as well as the\u00a0Searching for definitions, inspiring images, designer references<\/strong>... Then comes the\u00a0experimentation phase<\/strong>, during which the creator develops\u00a0Patterns or sample hypotheses<\/strong>. Little by little, she refines these hypotheses, selecting the best ones before reworking them, until she obtains her\u00a0Final product<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
