On Tuesday, January 23, 2024, the municipal theater of Aurillac, a conventionally recognized scene of national interest, and the association SG Editions<\/a> propose a roundtable discussion bringing together directors, filmmakers, a journalist, a university professor, a writer, and a sociologist, to understand how field research serves an artistic project.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The scene may seem detached from reality, yet it draws its nourishment from it. Reality creates imaginaries, and when an artist occupies a space, they can choose to take on the role of an investigator. In search of meaning, they conduct field research that allows them to branch out and that sketches new outlines, new horizons for their future creations.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This shift, the Aurillac Municipal Theater has incorporated it into its artistic project: \u00abFaire territoires\u00bb (Making territories). A chosen, deliberate plural that lowers borders to allow migratory currents to pass and open minds. Between those who stay and those who leave, but also with those who arrive, those who return, the neo-ruralists, the \"outsiders,\" are we forging new possibilities? A question that many resident companies are trying to answer by exploring the territory and its inhabitants. <\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

But how do you conduct your investigation? Are artists' techniques the same as journalists'? And from documentary to a fictional performance, what are the possible transformations of the same foundation? How does \"One\" become \"More\"? How does one voice make others heard? How do you hold your microphone and alter sources so they are incorporated into a work while preserving their truths?<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

It was in seeking answers to these questions that the association of Saint-G\u00e9raud high school in Aurillac, SG \u00e9ditions, chose to launch the first meeting of its 2024 lecture series on investigation, in collaboration with the municipal theater of Aurillac.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

A supper at the round table<\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Although the roundtable discussion will be organized on the stage of the municipal theater of Aurillac on Tuesday, January 23rd, there will be no set duration, no costumes, and no written dialogue. On this stage, guests will discuss and the exchanges will unfold. Spectators will be able to participate, move around, and enter and exit as they please. The event begins at 6:00 PM and has no time limit; snacks will be offered using products gathered from the lands of Cantal. A soup at the theatre, as nourishment for the mind.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
