Starting in September 2025, Saint-Géraud High School in Aurillac is innovating with an ambitious pedagogical experiment: The Discovery Path – Creative Professions.
Aimed at future high school freshmen, this unique program in the region offers a first concrete glimpse into the worlds of design, image, communication, and digital arts, while also fostering personalized support at every stage of their academic journey.
This program aims to guide students in building their future project through progressive immersion in various creative professional contexts.
A 360° pedagogical approach: support, guide, inspire
This new device aims to individualize educational paths starting in the sophomore year of high school by combining:
- personalized academic follow-up,
- an active orientation,
- a stimulation of creativity
- and a concrete discovery of creative careers
Each student will be guided through a structured program and introduced to the full range of creative professions: architecture, fashion, cinema, graphic design, animation, publishing, video games, communication, product design, event management, and many more. The main goal is to help them discover the richness and diversity of these fields, enabling them to identify paths to success that are right for them within a supportive environment.
Hands-on workshops to give meaning to learning
The heart of the device revolves around’weekly workshops led by external speakers from the world of creation:
- audiovisual, graphic design, 3D animation, painting, creative AI, graphic design, etc.
- Meetings with professionals,
- Visits to higher education institutions,
- concrete collaborative projects,
- Discovering the major professional fields: architecture, publishing, video games, fashion, communication, event management, space design, crafts, content creation, etc.
These experiences will give meaning to learning and will allow students to consider their future with confidence.

Sustained dynamics driven by the institution
This project is officially supported by the rectorate as part of the "Notre École, Faisons-La" call for projects. Simply put, it involves the creation of a Fablab, a space dedicated to experimentation, innovation, and the practical application of creative skills.
A support charter for a journey, Co-constructed with students, teachers, external stakeholders, and partners, a charter was created. This charter will promote collective commitments around strong values: kindness, rigor, creativity, openness, and shared ambition. It guarantees a quality trajectory and encompasses all stages of support until the young person pursues their higher education or professional choices.
