«Together, opening our doors, welcoming, giving, receiving at everyone's service»
The Saint-Géraud-Enfant Jésus school complex in Aurillac under the supervision of The Congregation of the Sisters of the Child Jesus. It welcomes, trains, and supports 200 children from kindergarten to primary school, 260 high school students, and 260 post-baccalaureate students in the fields of art, design, and communication.
Within our educational and living spaces, we are committed to respecting the dignity of each individual in their entirety.
Our institutions are living spaces open to everyone, considering the individual in their entirety and without any discrimination whatsoever from all members of the educational community, with a special welcome and attention to the most modest and fragile.
The climate of trust and dynamism that prevails within our institutions is created through times and places for exchange, listening, sharing, and solidarity, in the light of the Gospel and the values upheld by our congregation and our institutions.
We are committed to giving everyone the space they need.
Transmitting knowledge and enabling skill acquisition, awakening intelligence and developing critical thinking, fostering the learning of relationships with others through willpower and perseverance are the key points for each individual to achieve self-realization in conscious freedom.
To be the signs of what we give to live together to make our way in time and space to prepare our young people for the world of tomorrow.
Our educational projects are inspired by this charism, by our history, by who we are and by what we experience.
We are convinced that we are places of creation, innovation, and experimentation, so that everyone can build themselves and flourish within a collective that is open to the world, with an ecocitizen dimension.
PROJECT ESTABLISHMENT
Vocational and Technological High School
OF COMMUNICATION
Pillar 1: The Art of Building Together
A citizen, an adult, a human, a professional, a young person, an individual,...
Our institution allows everyone to play an active role in a collective that promotes skill-sharing, mutual support, and diversity, while respecting each individual's identity and developmental pace. May everyone have their freedom of thought and conscience.
1. Open and Discover
Artistic and cultural partnerships built around multifaceted exchanges are supported by an educational team that is deeply invested both within and outside the classroom. The educational team solidifies all levels of our training through numerous real-world projects aimed at discovering and enriching local stakeholders.
Projects and partnerships allow our youth to:
- To meet in order to foster exchange and share knowledge.
- To investigate, create, produce, restore, and sell with a sustainable, eco-citizen, and human-centered approach.
- To embellish, to contribute.
- To open one's mind to artistic and linguistic practices
Our high school, strongly rooted in the professional community of its territory, has maintained strong relationships with companies of all sizes, associations, and local authorities, as well as beyond the limits of our department and region.
This creates a link between learning and professionals:
- To train our young people for the needs and evolution of professions,
- To best meet the expectations of professions through adapted and responsive teaching,
- Develop networks for students and promote their employability.
Our students' participation in professional events, as well as the presence of professionals on examination juries, allows for a strong joint perspective on the quality of the training provided, regardless of the diploma being pursued.
Strengthened by its partnerships, we continue as follows:
- To continue developing the Campus of Arts and Crafts.
- To offer our communication services to business incubators.
- To pool our logistical and technical resources and our know-how even more.
Basically, our Design, Artistic Crafts, and Communication training programs require opening to the Other.
The international component participates in this virtuous cycle where the linguistic contributions made in class are articulated with the artistic and cultural enrichment that our trips and exchanges with foreign countries.
Since 2010, international openness has developed around programs Erasmus + : PFMP/training semester, teacher training and mobility abroad. This also translates into study trips, the reception and inclusion of foreign students in our training programs, and pedagogical and humanitarian actions in European and non-European countries.
So we can:
- Further develop European citizenship.
- Develop and realize new international partnerships.
- Adapt our communication tools to our foreign partners.
- Develop mobility contacts/partner company network.
2. Living together and sharing
We are convinced that education is not limited to the acquisition of academic knowledge but encompasses the development of personality and moral values of know-how. It is a true engine of personal growth and collective success.
Take the time to welcome each in what they are, to create a collective among young people but also with the educational community.
Provide an ear and conducive attention to thriving in a welcoming, secure, and inspiring living environment.
Living together, it's also for many young people, living in a boarding school.
Place to live for:
- Build a community for living and exchange.
- To offer students an environment conducive to learning, socialization, sharing and mutual assistance, and mutual respect.
- Foster development towards autonomy.
Cultivate well-being global effort to care for the bodies and minds of our youth through prevention and awareness activities, sports, nutrition...
Provide spiritual and moral support, pillar of our educational project. Thinking together about ethical and moral questions in order to build ourselves as responsible and supportive individuals.
Celebrating, serving, and being of service to others are all opportunities to nourish each person's spiritual life, the spirit of mutual aid and sharing that is already very present in our institution.
Work for sustainable development and each person's responsibility towards creation. We encourage our students and the entire educational community to adopt environmentally friendly behaviors by preserving and enhancing: Recycling, economical resource and food management, involvement in nature preservation projects.
Make everyone eco-responsible to do more with less.
Axe 2: The Art of Intentional Construction
Our training allows everyone to open up new possibilities in order to develop their own life path to:
- To find an ambition and achieve one's goals.
- To realize oneself through creation and innovation.
- Acquire skills, curiosity, and desire to fully realize yourself.
Creation, innovation, and support are realized in real projects with the involvement of numerous professional and cultural partners.
1. Create and innovate
«What is conceived well is expressed clearly and the words to say it come easily»
Nicolas Boileau
Being an institution of communication means enabling everyone to know how to use and listen with and through words. But one must also have the right words at the right time to express a clear message, to convince a person, an audience: this requires good diction and good discourse.
Through the creative workshops we offer our students, we enable them to develop their writing and oral expression skills through a transversal theme, which is urban culture: street art, comic book workshops, singing, visual identity, logos, etc.
Our institution ensures collective and individual well-being by optimizing the balance between school and extracurricular time, taking into account any constraints that may arise. Issues encountered are regularly addressed and evaluated to continuously improve well-being and quality of life within the institution.
Relaxation periods are offered to students through sports, cultural, and festive activities, both on and off campus, throughout the year.
The educational team is very present and available for the implementation and support of young people in their activities.
A listening space is available for young people, with a specialized educator present at the institution.
Cultural life is the DNA of the specialized programs in communication and applied arts at our institution. It develops thanks to:
- With a strong commitment from the teaching team.
- For the high school's many years of participation in the cultural and artistic life of Aurillac and its region.
It allows for diversification:
- The pedagogical proposal of institutional teaching through real, motivating, and rewarding actions for learners.
- Human and cultural encounters.
- The internship and training locations for our young people.
The sustainability of the actions is ensured through associations that regularly develop and initiate new partnerships and actions in collaboration with the entire local cultural fabric. These actions foster reflection, allow for individual and/or collective productions, thereby enabling the institution's members to develop their creativity and personality.
2. Support and Train
«Provide tools to open the field/workspace of possibilities and contribute to the flourishing of learners.»
It is proposing tools for lifelong learning. It is supporting, guiding, encouraging, and working together with kindness so that everyone can find and build their professional path. It is also transmitting the knowledge, attitudes, and skills inherent in our training programs and their professions.
Support for autonomy
The establishment and its entire educational team observe and implement a set of actions to foster and develop the autonomy of our young people:
- Peer tutoring
