The Catholic School, to bring its project, driven by a community, to life, is an institution recognized by public law. The responsibility for the economic, financial, real estate, and social management of the institution falls to an Organizing Body for Catholic Schools (OGEC), usually constituted as a 1901 association, which grants it legal personality, enabling it to act within the framework of French Republic law.
The mission of the OGEC
The OGEC is responsible for the management of the institution to ensure its operation and sustainability. The management of the institution must meet the needs of the educational project, school and educational activities, and all supporting activities (lunch program, boarding school, etc.) necessary for the students. This management is carried out in accordance with current legislation.
Maintenance, like real estate investment, is a primary concern for the OGEC. It ensures the optimal use of available funds to maintain the heritage and adapt it to educational needs.
Under social law, the OGEC is the employer of privately employed staff. It fulfills this responsibility in compliance with legislative and regulatory provisions, as well as the contractual and institutional texts governing Catholic education.
All OGECs are federated into a national organization that serves as a liaison with the state and social partners.
In our institution, the OGEC is chaired by Ms. Dumont. The board of directors consists of about ten people who are associated with the institution and all contribute voluntarily to the sound management of the association.
