The Technological baccalaureate STD2A addresses students who wish to pursue further Higher education in the fields of Graphic Design, Spatial Design, Fashion Design, Product Design, or Crafts and Art Restoration. But it also opens doors to Higher Art Schools, Architecture Schools, and university programs (Applied Arts, Plastic Arts, Art History, Archaeology, etc.) as well as teaching careers.
Objectives of the BAC STD2A (Sciences and Technologies of Design and Applied Arts)
The STD2A technological baccalaureate will teach you to:
Acquire the basics of design culture; discover design practices; communicate intentions through drawing, train in written and oral communication.
This is an art baccalaureate, allowing students to flourish in an artistic environment that combines different techniques. This BAC STD2A will enable you to develop real assets in art and drawing and will allow you to access a creative profession.

The BAC STD2A can open the door to many careers in the field of design and artistic creation, such as graphic designer, fashion designer, industrial designer, interior designer, etc. Students can also pursue their studies in design or applied arts, either by enrolling in an art school or a university, or by specializing in a specific field such as photography, cinema, or graphic design.
The teachings of the BAC STD2A

Specialty subjects specific to the track Creation and Design Culture, General and Technological, three in the first year (Physics Chemistry: 2h, Digital Tools and Languages: 2h, Design and Arts Professions: 14h) and two in the final year (Design Analysis and Methods: 9h, Design and Creation in Arts Professions: 9h).
General subjects They are identical across all series: French (in first year), moral and civic education, history-geography, mathematics, modern languages, physical and sports education, and philosophy (in the final year).
Personalized guidance and career choice assistance Students are allocated 54 hours per year to support them in their professional projects.
Optional teaching : Cinema-Audiovisual, 2 hours per week, is assessed through continuous assessment.
Technological education provided in a modern language A One hour per week is co-taught by an English teacher and an Applied Arts teacher.
BAC STD2A: What next?
A STD2A Baccalaureate allows high school students to continue their studies in many universities and schools. For young people who are not very interested in school, this diploma also opens doors to the professional world. However, we still recommend that you continue your studies to strengthen your knowledge and skills in the field and thus, in the future, have a better chance of occupying a more advanced position.
